General Discussion / Re: Message during transcription
No, no, the disk isn't full, still 115 GB.
Couldn't it be a folder linked to NWC? Anyway, now I save manually, just like I did before, except that message didn't appear.
I removed the "every 15 minutes" autosave setting from my settings.

General Discussion / Message during transcription
Good morning,
For some time now, while using NWC, I've been seeing the message in Attachment 1.
My settings (Attachment 2) have never been changed.
Do I need to change anything?
Thank you.

General Discussion / Re: Very complicated score (spartito molto complicato)
After much observation of Harlad Müller's nwctxt, whom I thank again, I figured out the trick of the notes in parentheses and the eighth-note rests on quarter notes. I had changed the time signature to 7/8 by muting the extra note, but it didn't work.
So far, okay.
Now I just have to discover the entire architecture of the choruses 1.4, 2.3, etc.
It's always useful to periodically browse the forum; you always discover something interesting. Have a good week everyone.

General Discussion / Re: Very complicated score (spartito molto complicato)
Thank you so much, my friend Harald! Your message catches me while I've been (super)busy for several hours transcribing this "very complicated score." Yours, which I'll study carefully, shows the hand of a professional! I'm not even familiar with some of the solutions you proposed. In the measures with the eighth note in parentheses, which increases the tempo by 1/8, I had initially considered changing the tempo for that measure to 7/8, but then the "rhythm" of the singing (which I've heard many times on YouTube from different choirs) was altered in an unfeasible way. I'll study your solution for this too. Now I want to finish my work. I've decided to transcribe the ENTIRE score from beginning to end as if there were no refrains. In practice, I've gone from 20 measures to 48! It's too complicated and difficult for me to work on the refrains. Then I'll work on the graphic aspect. Thanks.

General Discussion / Re: Very complicated score (spartito molto complicato)
No, no, it's an exercise to test my ability to "stress" the program  :D (I never print the score). I have plenty of time. Sometimes I persevere, and with your help, I achieve something, even if not everything I set out to do. Other times, I quit the project prematurely, with no results. Bye Flurmy.

General Discussion / Very complicated score (spartito molto complicato)
Good morning to you, wherever you are!
I wanted to bring the attached score to your attention. I'd like to transcribe it exactly as it appears. All the verses are sung by the Bars and the Basses, but the 1st and 4th start from the beginning, the 2nd and 3rd from the B section. Furthermore, from the D section, the 2nd and 3rd voices are T I and T II. Not to mention the Coda with accompanying markings.
I'm wondering if it's possible to transcribe and perform it as I present it. The most complicated issue for me with transcription is the numbering of the verses, but for performance, who knows...?
Thanks.

General Discussion / Re: Very long half note
Grazie David,
I had completely forgotten about this comment. Your observation deserves a response. I'm attaching the NWC file of the song in question. This transcription (I won't go into details because I don't remember them) is sufficiently accurate for me.
Thanks, ciao.

General Discussion / Re: "Text" window size
One last comment. As you may have guessed, I'm completely ignorant of programming, a subject completely foreign to me.
My question might even seem ridiculous.
I wonder how our very own Harald Müller (HMM) managed to program a line break with the "|" character in his XText.hmm.
Have a nice day. Lorenzo

General Discussion / Re: "Text" window size
Thanks, David.
In a personal conversation, Flurmy had already suggested this excellent solution, which I've already tried successfully. I used Notepad: write the text and then copy/paste it into PageTxt --> Text. The problem with the "line break" (or next line) still needs to be solved without resorting to the infamous %br%. But it's not a big problem.
Have a good day.

General Discussion / Re: "Text" window size
Ciao Flurmy
Eh no, è proprio la dimensione del testo da scrivere, non di quello visualizzato nello spartito. Me ne farò una ragione  :( .
Oh no, it's the size of the text to be written, not the one displayed in the score. I'll get over it

General Discussion / "Text" window size
Good morning, I'm transcribing many old folk songs from my region. The lyrics are often in dialect, with terms that are now obsolete. I use Page Text (with Page Text Maestro). I'm wondering if it's possible to increase the size of the "Text" window, and therefore the text as well, as in the "lyric" text entry window.
Thank you.

General Discussion / Re: Strong accent
Thank you.
Searching the manual (all in English  :'( ), I found the answer.
From a "Metodo di teoria musicale" (Music Theory Method) I regularly use, I found the term "sforzato" with the fork above or below the note.
Have a nice day.

General Discussion / Strong accent
Good morning, I came across some notes with the "sforzato" sign in Italian (I think "strong accent" in English), that is, that vertical fork above or below the note: ^. Is it possible to transcribe it with NWC?
Thanks.

General Discussion / Re: Page.txt in two pieces
I'll answer myself, found it! I searched the "Page Txt" Object Manager presentation thread and found that "once" on the page where the text should appear solves the problem.

General Discussion / Re: Page.txt in two pieces
Quick question about testing with Page.text.
How can I insert text only on the last page when there are more than two pages, starting from page 3 onward? "Once" puts it on the first page, "even" and "odd" in odd and even, always twice. I don't understand "no mirroring," but it doesn't work for me.
Thanks and have a good evening/morning/night.

General Discussion / Re: Page.txt in two pieces
Thank you very much. I was about to send an attachment to explain my question graphically. I'll attach it anyway and then I'll get to your process.

PS: This collaboration between grandparents is wonderful  :)

General Discussion / Re: Page.txt in two pieces
Thanks, Grandpa Agust,
the graphic result is perfect! I need to study your passages carefully and "metabolize" them.
The second question, posed in other words: at the end of a page (at the bottom of the page) is the last line of the score ("section close bar"). Can I add a subsequent page that's completely blank, that is, without any lines?

General Discussion / Page.txt in two pieces
Good morning,
this is the problem I'm proposing.
Is it possible to split text inserted with Page.Txt into two parts after the last line? "Split" means one part on the left and one on the right. In the attached example, the second part of the text, the one on the right, was created with Xtext.hmm. The two parts were paired as precisely as possible after many attempts.
My transcriptions always include text, and I transfer it to the nwc file. When the text is very long, as in the example, I have great difficulty inserting it so it's displayed.
At this point, another subsequent question: Is it possible to create a blank page (without a staff) after the last line?
Thanks.

General Discussion / Re: Trave in beamed group
Thanks,
I tried. Too complicated for me. I think Flurmy's suggestion is the simplest solution, also because I have to use layering anyway for other reasons. Good evening.

General Discussion / Trave in beamed group
Good morning to you,
I ask why in a chord with beamed notes (e.g. two octaves) only one of the two pairs appears joined by the barline, or the one with the stems up or down, but not both. Do I have to resort to stratification? On page 47 of the manual what I don't get is very clear.
Where is the solution?
Excuse my English. I attach two images that explain better than many words.
Grazie.

Thanks, Lawrie,
despite the translation of Google translator I understood your explanation well. It is the simplest method. Thanks, good afternoon.

General Discussion / rest in chord
Good evening, good night and good morning to you.
I only ask this.
In the attached image the only way to resolve the chord with the pause inserted is stratification?
Thank you.

General Discussion / Re: Tremolo with octaves
I am not an expert on tremolos...
Me even less than you!
I attach some experiments.
These are the measures involved with my variations for the various types of tremolo.
The musicians have their say.
Have a nice day.
Lorenzo

PS: I ask you to be very simple in your explanations because I have to rely on Google translator  :(
PS 2: I exclude errors in the score

General Discussion / Re: Tremolo with octaves
Mike, to dispel any doubts about my transcription, I attach the scan of the measure in question, on two musical staves.
Good evening.

General Discussion / Re: Tremolo with octaves
Thanks Mike,
I had read the instructions for your tremolo, but stopped at the indication of the "half of the note" rest. I understood and corrected it. But now another problem arises. In the upper line of the score there is a whole note (4/4), while in the lower line, the one with the tremolo, NWC correctly reads 5/4. I solved it with a quarter rest, not visible, in the upper line. Graphically it is fine, but from a musical point of view no. Is there any other solution that is completely correct?
In any case, thanks for your instructions.
Have a good evening (here in Italy it is 8:14 PM).

General Discussion / Tremolo with octaves
Good morning to you,
I need to insert a tremolo between two octaves. I get the result, the tremolo appears and sounds as it should but the octaves still appear with the "whisker" ("flag" in English?).
How can I remove it?
Thanks.

General Discussion / Re: Strange time
Thanks HM,
I have to study your construction of the "incriminated" measure well, also considering that I did not show the vocal part.
It will be a good exercise!
Have a nice day (it's raining here...).

General Discussion / Strange time
I need your help.
In the attachment there are two measures of a piano accompaniment. The previous measures are in 4/4, as you can see from the first measure. In the second measure, the lower staff keeps 4/4, while the upper one becomes 11/8 (???).
How can I make a correct insertion in the upper staff of the second measure?
Do the two signs I highlighted in yellow say something more about the strange change in time?
Thanks and have a nice evening.

General Discussion / Re: Page layout
Thanks, I tried a few things and managed to fix the problem.
It is important WHERE to place the cursor correctly!!! I did not do it precisely and the pop-up that opened did not show what I was looking for.
Good morning, good day, good afternoon, good evening, good night to you, princes of time zones!  :)

General Discussion / Re: Page layout
... I take this opportunity to ask for information.
Is it possible to add an accidental or other to a single member of a chord?...

I am really incorrigible! I had asked the same question a year and a half ago.
Lawrie had answered me, explaining what could and could not be done with a single member of an agreement.
Buona notte!

General Discussion / Re: Page layout
I attach the nwc files from which I saved the txt format.
If you still see them the same in the page preview, there is some problem. I see them differently.
But I do not exclude my mistake, I am not very familiar with these operations.
I take this opportunity to ask for information.
Is it possible to add an accidental or other to a single member of a chord?
E.g., a C/E/G chord already built, can I put a "flat" to the E without having to reconstruct the chord?
Thank you, have a nice day.
Lorenzo

General Discussion / Re: Page layout
Many thanks for your precious suggestions, as always timely and quick (the time zone juvat!).
I remember many of the "tricks" but I only remember them now that you tell me!
I will continue with my tests following your advice. Among other things, I think that the problem is made even more complicated by the presence of 4 lines (in the example I only put one).
Good night? Good morning?
Good time!

General Discussion / Re: Page layout
Sorry for the confusion.
First attachment: all the system on one page
Second attachment: 2 pages, with 6 measures per page indicated
43
General Discussion / Re: Page layout
This is the Baritone part of a folk song that is composed of 54 measures.
The first page preview is this: 54 measures on a single page (no space left for the text).

I would like to have 6 measures per system and nine lines. For the space of the text, even seven lines of six measures on the first page, two system on the second. Below you can write the text without problems.
I put every 6 measures (at 7, 13, 25, 31, 37 etc.) the indication of "Force new system". This is the result:

General Discussion / Page layout
Good morning to you.
I often find myself struggling with layout problems. Let me explain better.
If I transcribe a song, for example, of 48 measures, I would like to have 6 staffs of 8 measures each. This is to have an aesthetically decent layout and to have space under the last staff for the complete text.
I use staff properties ---> general ---> ending bar (open hidden) and then Force System Break. In the page preview a couple of staves always appear that occupy the entire width of the page. So every eight measures I put (Alt Gr + ]) ---> Force a new System (top staff only) or select bar and then "Force system break (are they the same thing?). The problem is not solved and therefore I "adjust" the width and height of the page so that the measures slowly fall into place. But it is always a long and frustrating job.
You have no suggestions for this topic?
Thank you and goodbye.

General Discussion / Re: Tie (or slur?) without the tied note.
Thanks Mike,
the solutions you proposed are technically and graphically excellent. Grace notes are a tool I never consider enough.
Furthermore, the fact that their "invisibility" does not take up space, does not create problems with time signature.
Personally I prefer the first alternative.
Lorenzo

General Discussion / Tie (or slur?) without the tied note.
I am transcribing a piece in which the notes shown in the attachment appear in the first bars. These are ties (or slurs?) that are missing the second note.
I ask the musicians: what does that writing mean?
I can only say that when those measures are performed the note becomes "blurred".
How to make it in NWC?
Up to now the only "decent" result is with Slur.ms", then working on the length and height of the ligature line.
Kind regards to you.

General Discussion / Wav and MP3 files from NWC.
Good morning (even if it rains a lot here),
I read in the "frequently asked questions" the steps to follow to create Wav and MP3 files from NWC.
I don't have Audacity but GoldWave. Is it possible to achieve the same result with this software?
Since I don't find a perfect correspondence in the description of the procedure, I also ask if the steps are identical with Windows 11 too.
I thank you in advance and greet you cordially.
Lorenzo
