Version 1.75 Discussion / Re: Issue reinsatlling 2.1 authticity ID
I found the downloaded copy I had for 2.0 so I am good with this immediate issue.  Once I am at 2.0 are you charging for 2.1 or is there a link were I can get it?

I have been a user of this program for many years and had to reinstall before. This time when it came up with the ID, it requres a code that has a format xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx with more than 4 characters in each. I have xxxxxx-xxxxxx in mine is there a different link for me to use? Thank you very much

It lasts the time of a dotted half but it only shows the quarter note at the beginning. I need a dotted half. What does it take to change that.

General Discussion / Question about the organization of my song
This is the same song I was getting the weird flats in the other day.

I am attaching a link to the 3 verses that are listed together in the song. I am having problems with the way I have it implemented, because the middle verese has 3 more syllables than the other verses. They are are are sung with eighths when the other verses have quarter notes. As it is
those extra 3 words bump the first refrain so the words in the first special ending are all messed up. The notes fit perfectly.

It would be nice if someone has a simple suggestion I'm not aware of.

General Discussion / Re: A question about a note.
It is just quarters  and dotted halves. I've experience enough layering that I'm alright with it. 

I'm not clear yet where the notes (the B-flat octave) are in it. I see them showing in the music when I copy it but there are enough numbers, I'm not clear what each does.  If I was doing the same thing for the same notes but it was a dotted half, would I need to copy a bunch more of these lines in? I believe it would be becuse they have to last a lot longer.

If it was a quarter note for the D above this B-Flat, What would it look like?


Once I see a couple examples and compare them, I'll catch on.

General Discussion / A question about a note.
I have a note that occurs a number of time in the song I've been working on. I know what the 8va is and have read the info on it. I have one question regarding it. On the line where you show the 8va, does it just go on as text?

I understand the top part of that note means you play that cord in rolling manner (A pianist friend of mine says "like thunder rolling".) Is there a way of doing this with NWC?

When it changes to C it has the naturals on the key signiture and it is working there. It is in the special endings it is not working right.  I suspect it has something to do with that but an not sure what to do about it.

yes they are all in one song file with 108 measures as I have it right now.

The first 21 transposed correctly from B-flat major to A-flat major.
22 - 37 transposed correctly from B minor to A minor.
38 - 51 is the other 3 verses of the song and they transposed perfectly from C to B-flat major.

The verses 3-5 have a few variations where one has a single syllable and a quarter note and another has 2 sylables and eight notes. I have the words for the first three verses and the special endings on Lyric 1 tab. The words for the 4th verse and a lot of underscores are on lyric 2 Tab. The 5th verse is on like it on the Lyric 3 tab.

I am using master repeat open at the beginning of the 3rd verse, and master repeat close at the end of all special endings except the one that ends the song. I have special ending 1 for processing the end of verses 1, 2, & 3 since the are all on Lyric 1. At the end of the lyric 2 -Verse 4 it skips back to the beginning of the loop and does Lyric 3 - verse 4. When it ends
it has a separate special ending 3, which does a couple different things and the big end. There is no end of the special ending 3 could that be the problem?

General Discussion / An issue with accidentals
I have a song I just put in that was orriginally 4 pages. the 1st page is in Bflat major, the second is Bm, the rest of the song is in C. In the whole song there weren't more than half a dozen accidentals.

I transposed down 2, and got mixed results. The verses half the song all came out fine.

The chorus cameout showing flat flat note everywhere. Can someone help to point me figure out what I messed up.

the song is sung with it. By adding a slur on the first note of
these part, it is working ok.

Hi I have a song I am trying to enter that has The words sweet, the or then under two notes,

At the beginning of the song, I played a little with extra _. In the middle of the 1st
line is similar notes to use with Go, With The and In. The thing I've been trying with
extra underscores, don't seem to have any effect other than to widen the space the
two notes are spread over.

I assume there may already be a link out there to deal with this. If so
I would love a pointer. .

I have one other issue. I have the following in another song

When it prints, I get double notes on the A. Is  this the kind of thing need text spacing for

I'm starting to get it. I was at basic note entry, just pressing spaces and enter for my notes. I never tried getting to note properties.

I see after you place a note, you can select properties and specify the visibility. That is nice.

How do you get vertical offset 2000? If I try Vertical offset it only allows me up to 15.

If I go into the ones on measure 4 of the first stave the rests say 15. I added a measure after the second stave and put in a doted quarter rest gave visibility never and the vertical offest of 15 like the other measure. It show it way under the A-D area of the measure above. I must be missing something still, but I am getting closer.

Thank you so much. That cleaned up my whole bass line mess and allowed me to get rid of the extra staff and rests that were there! :> :>

I have been placing rests in all the time when nothing is happening in the 2nd layer. In this sample, I have the first measure in the main layer, and rests in the second. The second measure I have the notes with tails up in the main and the tails down in the second, the third measure all are in the main one.

How does it know to go where you have it in your sample? What does the anchor do in this situation and how do I get it there?

I used the principal from the bass line to get the 1/8 G flat in a chord with the 1/8 rest at the begining of this line! it worked perfect.

If I can get around those issues and not have to have  a lot of rests hiding in the layer with the extra notes, it can work out. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I understand it has trouble wiht Arpeggios, and I will check out the NWC2STDA.ttf and see if it can help me. My trouble is with the notes in the treble clef above the Arpeggio. Where the two notes with tails up quarter E & G is chorded together with eighth C. I have been putting in the 1/4 notes, then change the note to 1/8 tail down, move cursor up to C. It simply gives me the audio ding that says "Not allowed."

Before I get too frustrated over this bass part, I just tried making it give me an error and I ended up with a bass note with a 1/8 rest over it, I was tried to get it to repeat, and couldn't.

Most of the time I get the same results if I try to enter notes as part of a bass rest and a chord note with it.

General Discussion / Trouble entering a couple chords or note combination.
I have a song I entered in the int NWC2 and it plays nicely, but
in order to get the notes timed right I had to use 2 sets of treble lines
and two bass lines. When I combined them into one, it came out with
all kinds of wierd characters from the rests on the overlayed line.

The first notes on the bass line aren't allowed as a chord. I can't enter a rest as a note in a chord.

In the treble line the last chord isn't allowed. If the I enter the chord part for the top, then try the stem for the other notes in the chord going down and the note is between the notes already in the chord it is not allowed. I get the same sound as when I try making a chord with a rest in it.

Am I doing it wrong, or is it something to be considered for a fix?

This is an awesome product and I'm amazed I got all the notes to sound at the correct time. It would be even better if I can enter these combination.

General Discussion / Question about getting to song's temp
I unserstand how to insert a tempo setting, I am having problems getting to the
Tempo of the song I am working on. It is a Vocal style piece, with the tempo right
newr the begining of the the song.

I am only finding settings for adding new tempo setting. The new setting is not replacing
what was there. when looking at the song it says  quarternnote = 90 quarternote = 70
quarternote = 50. I know the last one applies, and it plays OK, but it looks cluttered.
especially when printed. Is there any way to get to the original one and change it?

General Discussion / Question about using NWC with files other than GM
I found a link to a site callled NoteWorth Composer Scriptorium. with an asortment of
very useful items.

Several items I found Xg-full.nwc and xg-cond.nwc in particula look like they will allow me to use Yamaha Midi XG sounds. I may be missing something, but I don't find a way to tell
NWC2 how to use these. I am new at using the product.

Can anyone suggest how to set it up.

So far the help I have found has been very good, but sometimes I am not familiar with
the terminology in order to find the documetation.

others. It is terrific you have these resources available.

Thank you so much for your suggestions and information. The are very helpful. One song I tried it on has 1/8 notes going up or down
with beams over them. The notes are at the same point in the song, and it shows the notes in the chord appropriatly,
but some of the beams are spaced so they look like beam over 1/16 showing two beams. Others are are crooked. Is there something
I missed, I need to do to get the beams straight?

Is there some way we can have the program put guitar Chords over the melody line?

I can see this as either an option we say yes or no to, and have it figure out what chords are represented by the chords in the piece.

Another option could/should be if we want to put chords We want on the page, having some way to print it.

General Discussion / Question about how to put notes on one line instead of 2
I have a song that has Soprano/Alto/Tenor/and Bass on separate lines.

I would like to copy them, or change a setting so  so the Alto overlays the soprano and the bass overlays the tenor so I end up with just soprano/alto and tenor/bass in two lines.

Is this possible without rekeying my whole song?

General Discussion / Hassles with song playing extra notes.
I have a number of songs the measure taking up a the whole time for that measure, in this case a B flat on the treble clef.
I currently get 2 notes of half the time I need. The song I am working on is 6/8 time, and at the ends of some lines the
1 note carries the whole 6 beats. The notes are shown as 2 dotted quarters with the slur between them. There is nothing to
slur because they don't change. What does it take to get these to sound as 1 note for 6 beats? Am I doing something wrong
or is there a bug in the program?
