Two words: Layered staves...
Create the chords once, move the staff that contains them to just below the staff requiring them and and layer.
Need 'em on another staff, move the chord staff below that one and layer...
I also use this for lyrics - quite often I have lyrics AND chords on one staff and layer as necessary.
If you need different lyrics on different staves (E.G. SATB scores where they don't all sing the same thing) then set up the lyrics as needed and use a separate, layered staff for the chords.
FWIW I tried using lyric lines for chords and found it was more trouble than it was worth. IMHO
