simple notations

Some of my songs contains many slurs and/or ties. Can I convert these to a single note for a syllable?
(When I display my songs onto a wall, slurs and/or ties doesn't read easily for some people).

Please attach a sample NWC file (or portion).
If it is possible to do what you're asking for, a definite sample will make explaining much easier.
Possibly Rick can show you a trick how to do it with layered staves (display without slurs / ties, and using hidden playback).

(For projection, one usually has to make the font quite large and reduce the number of bars in each "line".
Very much depends upon how far the furthest viewer will be and/or the quality of the viewers' vision,
as well as contrast, colour, brightness and font used.)

Try selecting the note(s) included on a previous note's slur or tie where you want a lyric syllable.  Select it (them) and Cntl/E.  For notes, the third drop down box around the middle of the new window will be Lyric Syllable.  Change it to Always and you're done.

For example I've placed the original music in the lower staff.
After following Warren's tips you'll see the result in the upper staff...
But now the lyrics are not on the right place...

First, set all the tie destinations to: Lyric=Never
The lyrics should not "shift around" while you are doing this.
The first measure will look like this:

First for my information: Is the way I give my song (in text format) the only possible way?
I do not use the NWCTXT format furthermore, just I use this for this topic

That's why I have a question: how do I set the tie destinations to "Lyric=Never" in NWC (NOT in NWCTXT)?
