Two dots one note

Two dotted half notes in a cord on the same note, one with stem up and one with stem down appear with two dots (like a colon) rather than one.

They don't do that for me.  What version of Noteworthy are you using?

If the notes are on a line then that is the correct notation; if in a space then you get a single dot in the same space.

I am using version 2.1.  The notes are on a line.  So how can it be fixed?

Possibly:
Quote
!NoteWorthyComposerClip(2.0,Single)
|Chord|Dur:Half,Dotted|Pos:0|Opts:Stem=Up|Dur2:Half,Dotted|Pos2:0z!2
!NoteWorthyComposerClip-End
And then change Highlight 2 to "white" using <this> procedure or rg_color.vbs.

Why do you want it fixed when it's the correct notation?

In multi-part writing, if the upper voice is dotted then the dot is placed in the higher space (if necessary) and the lower voice dot appears in the lower space. NW actually implemented this properly for the first time in a recent release, so please don't knock it!

layering will work to remove one of the dots.

I think Peter is right: if the two overlayed unison notes are on a line, two dots (one in the space above, the other in the space below) are correct. So there is nothing to fix here.

Doing a little research on this problem, by the way, I ran across a complaint in the Finale user's forum that Finale doesn't display two dots in this situation - along with a couple of suggestions on how to make two dots show. You just can't please everybody. ;-)
