Comping slashes

I think I've finally found a decent solution to comping slashes.  Insert headless notes with stem length zero and then use the lyric editor.

Your lyric is simply a number of / marks.  You might want to change the page setup/fonts so that lyrics are in a good, solid font to do this, but I just used Times New Roman 14 Bold Italic. 

The lyric should have a vertical offset sufficient to place the / in the middle of the staff.

The staff in this example, vertical upper size 18, lower 10.

To enter chord symbols, use a layered staff, with the names of the chords as lyrics, anchored to headless, stemless & muted notes. 

The two staffs should work well together (except the designated Staff Lyric font might not look good as a chord symbol)
