Re: Place Chords Reply #1 – 2004-06-23 01:11 am Sure, if you truly want to.Place your first note. Then enter other chord elements by placing the cursor to the right of the note, move up or down, and press control and enter at the same time. The help menu (F1 in the program) gives easy to follow information about making chords with NWC. Re: Place Chords Reply #2 – 2004-06-23 03:05 am Or do you mean chord symbols? If so, there is no automatic way in NWC. You need to insert them as text. To help, you might want to load in a user font. You should be able to Google for something handy.Cheers, Ewan Quote Selected
Re: Place Chords Reply #3 – 2004-06-23 07:19 am I misunderstood the question. I've found this workaround to be pretty satisfactory:I use a layered staff, with chord symbols written as lyrics (Ctrl-L). I fill the staff with hidden rests except where I want the symbol to appear. At those points, I insert a hidden, muted note. Each chord symbol will be treated as a syllable, and will line up on the hidden notes. You likely have to use an ASCII character for the "-" sign too, in chords such as D7-9. I think it's Alt-0150 but you may have to experiment to find the right one.For diminished chords, use the superscript o that is an ASCII character made with Alt-0176 (on the numerical keypad only). You may also wish to change the font for lyrics - do that from Page Setup, Fonts, Staff lyrics. Some fonts are prettier, having a rounded bottom on a b for instance, but be careful, not all the user fonts are complete sets. Quote Selected
