No sound while entering from MIDI keyboard

Hello everyone,

I'm tasting NoteWorthy

In think it's great, but I have one problem

When I play on my MIDI keyboard, the notes write down properly on the screen, but I can't hear any sound.

In Replay mode, all is fine.

In all other ways, my sound card works normally.

Thank you for your help ...

I gather that your MIDI keyboard does not have its own built-in synthesizer. If this is the case, you can use the Echo MIDI Input feature located in Tools, Options, Record in order to hear what you enter.

"NoteWorthy tastes good like a notation program should."

Anyone under 40 won't get the above jokette.

I'm going on 42, and I don't get it!

That's because 42 is the answer... to life, the universe and everything (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy).

In the 1960's or 1970's, Winston brand cigarettes had an advertising jingo "Winston tastes good, like a real cigarette should."

Jokette is also a play on the different ways of spelling cigaret or cigarette.

Well....  LSMFT is another tobacco advertising slogan (Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco).

Or optionally for the "Maidenform" bra company - Loose Strap Means Floppy T...  No no, never mind.  (Blush)

I'm not sure if I've even heard of Winston cigarettes. I don't smoke, so I wouldn't really notice. Also, they might not have run the campaign here in the UK.

And I'm not quite 42 - another 3 months before I learn the meaning of life!

And while we are off the topic...

I wonder which marketing executive thought Winston was a good name for a cigarette.  It always brought to my mind the opening of 1984.

We learned about "Winston tastes good, like a cigarette should." in English class.  Our teacher told us it should have been "Winston tastes good, as a cigarette should."
I still don't get why...

Yeah, those English teachers sure know how to get in the way don't they?  It was the same in my day.

I found this on the web :
"..."as"should've been used instead of "like" because the former's a pluperfect particle, whereas the latter's a conjunctival incantation. Or whatever...

"So how did Winston react to the wrath of the righteous? ... A follow-up commercial had a gray-bunned schoolmarm firing off a letter about the grammatical goof, only to be challenged with the jingle, "Whaddaya want, good grammar or good taste?" ...

The reason for the grammatical faux pas was because the advertising agency that created the jingle was Lika Associates (my uncle is Arthur Lika) and the jingle reads "Winston tastes good LIKA cigarette should" in photos from the 50's taken while developing the campaign.  It was just a play on words.

So does that make you Lisa Lika?
