Recitatives

I submitted a question some time ago (last year, I think) about recitatives in chant notation- i.e how to notate lyrics that are on a recitative note, or chord-using lots of quarter notes takes too long, and requires splitting up sylables, and using a hidden note doesn't work well at all- using a font that has a dottes -double-headed whole works only if you don't need ledger lines- we need double-headed (or dotted) whole notes, and lyric capabilites that allow entry of lyrics right into the score as you type-rather than the lyric editor- that way you see how it looks right then-it's been a long time since I checked in, too long to try and check the past year's worth of info here- has there been any develpoments that allow chant recitatives to be notated any easier than the methods I described above???

Ahh, leave it to Fred to come to the rescue and do a search that the OP should have done...
