Probably you have not installed the soundblaster drivers that came with the card.

Microsoft provides drivers to make the card work, but this does not allow to perform advanced operations on the cards, like changing the sound bank.

For that you need to install the original SB live drivers and software (included in the CD that came with the card)

After that you probably will want to update the drivers and software. For that go to wwww.soundblaster.com and find the support for your exact SB live model.

If you are not getting any sound at all probably you have not installed any drivers or they are wrongly installed. Anyway solving this depends highly on your Operating system (windows 95,98,2000,XP,etc) and hardware configuration.

If you just brought your card or you have little experience with PCs I suggest to ask for assistance or the shop you bought the card. If that does not work try with soundblaster guys.

Good luck.

If you are trying to hear NWC files playback, go into the NWC Tools Options Midi and play around with the settings.

If you're trying to listen to other sound files using Windows MediaPlayer or somesuch, go into its Tools Options Player tab and make sure "digital playback" is checked.

And I guess it goes without saying that you have speakers plugged into your soundcard, don't you?  If they're amplified speakers, they might have a power switch to check.  Sounds so obvious, but I'd check this before playing around with the software settings.

Audio Headquarters is a small suite of programs that should be on your Soundblaster setup CD.

The soundblaster setup program allows you to choose the speaker setup, including settings for 2, 4 or 5 speakers.  If you have it set up for your configuration, it should work.

I'm told the Audio HQ is on the driver disk and that
it will solve the "Front Speaker Only" problem.
My problem is I don't have the driver disk.
Does the Audio HQ come with the download?
