Hiding stacatto dots in lower voice.

In the following clip, both voices are stacatto. How can I hide the dots on the bottom parts? In doing the Staff Properties, Visual tab, there is an option of "Layered Lower Voice Dot Placement". If this is what I need to use, how do I use it?

Put a "marker" (keyboard shortcut @) before each note, check box "Articulation" and give the marker Visibility "Never".
This is the same logic that lets you hide slurs via markers; but staccato dots are "articulation".

(However, with your example, the dots are masked by the notes of the upper layered staff anyway  :D ; but I admit that, somewhere else in the piece, they might be visible).

Dot placement is a different beast, it is for dotted notes.

A less tedious way: Performace style -> Staccato.
When finished: Performace style -> something else. I normally use Semplice.
