CHANGING THE INSTRUMENT IN MY NOTEWORTHY COMPOSER 2025-10-17 01:30 PM I have just rejoined NWC after an absence of 6 years. I can only get an electronic instrument when I play the music I have put in, and I want to get piano. How do I do this? Quote Selected
Re: CHANGING THE INSTRUMENT IN MY NOTEWORTHY COMPOSER Reply #1 – 2025-10-17 10:34 PM Hi, Niki. What do you mean by " I can only get an electronic instrument when I play the music I have put in"?When you open TOOLS\OPTIONS there is a MIDI tab where you can choose the playback device. At least Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth should be available on Windows. Make sure that this one (or another if you have multiple devices) are moved to the right panel "Devices used by play back".Once you did that, you should be able to assign each staff to an instrument at your choice. Just hit F2 when in a staff and select the "instrument" tab. If no predefined instrument is chosen, the staff will use the first channel (piano) or the one that was assigned before. But it is always better to assign explicitly an instrument to be sure this will be used. Also check the midi tab where you can choose a play back device limited to the devices you selected in the TOOLS\OPTIONS list.If this doesn't answer your question, please explain again what you are missing.Bart Quote Selected
