I frequently do charts- a melody line with chords. So far I've been creating a new staff and putting the chords on top, then making the staff ( and rests ) invisible. I thought I saw something in a sample with a simple horizontal line with hash marks at the the bars with chord names above. Where is the sample I saw?
I am putting an orchestral score onto NWC. Because the instruments sounds in NWC are pretty lame, I put everything to Acoustic Grand Piano. However, for a couple instruments, I keep getting percussion sounds. I keep resetting the instrument in the Staff Properties dialog box, but it's no use. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks to everybody that responded. BTW, when I said I wanted a trill where the next note is not in the scale, I meant where the next note of the scale is a whole step, but I want to trill with the next half step.
I am writing a violin part for a piece and I am calling for a trill. I don't see anyway to indicate that. Also, I would like to indicate what the trilled note is, in this case, it's not the next note of the scale.
Thanks for all your replies. As usual, I figured it out after I asked the question. I highlighted the object, right clicked and went to "Properties", etc.
I was composing a piece and using layering to put 2 voices on the same staff. Somehow, I was able to make my rests in the second staff "invisible". I can't seem to find the dialog box that allowed me to do that. Can anyone help?
For some reason, when I try to view a score in the Scriptorium, I don't get the image. I get a little box ing the upper left hand corner. I have a full, legitimate version of NWC.
I am putting 'Take 5' into NWC in Ebm ( as written ) and transposing so my band can play it in Gm. After I put it into NWC, I transposed using the Staff Properties/Midi/Tranposition. The pitch changed, but the music notation didn't. Is there a way I can get the whole staff to transpose, including the new key signature?
I'm having alot of trouble deleting a flow direction, tempos, chord name, ect. after I put it in. If I realize my mistake immediately, I can always 'Undo'. If I have to go back after another edit and make a change, I can't separate the flow direction from the notes in the staff below. I can't find where in the help this is explained. I know it has something to do with the diamonds, but I'm stumped.
