Synchronization problem 1999-01-06 05:00 am I am a new happy lucky owner of 400 Mh computer and I encounter some synchronizing problems beetween the score display on the screen and the sound part. The screen display is in advance from 1 beat to a measure versus the sound player. Is there any solution to this problem.PS : Let me know if my English is unreadable !!!P. Re: Synchronization problem Reply #1 – 1999-01-06 05:00 am If you're using a software synthesizer ("wavetable" synth) this is normal behavior, since it takes the soft-synth awhile to process the midi data before playing it.This shouldn't occur with a hardware synth (or soundcard with daughterboard), etc.Fred Quote Selected

Re: Synchronization problem Reply #3 – 1999-01-07 05:00 am Yes,yes, you are right, my new computer uses a sofware synthesizer. So, I imagine that I have to live with this (or to buy a real card...)BTW, any opinions about sofware synth vs hardware synth ?Pierre. Quote Selected
Re: Synchronization problem Reply #4 – 1999-01-08 05:00 am If your wonderful 400Mhz computer is equipped with a sound card, ever a standard 16bit one, it should provide an hardware synthetiser. You may choose the MIDI port from the Tools/Options/Midi menu. You will find there a list of available play devices that you may test individually. You will see, at least, a sound card internal synthetiser + a soundblaster compatible opl3 (horrible quality) + something called "MPU 401 compatible" which correspond to the MIDI output plug that you may connect to an external synth (keyboard or standalone synth).Bruno Quote Selected
