Single staves

I am a brand new user so apologies in advance as this is a very basic question!
How do I write music on single staves. Every time I insert a new stave as a new line, it is linked to the others.

You don't create a new staff for a new line.

When you enter your music, keep entering on the same staff. The system will automatically go onto the next line when it needs to. Or if you want a new line at a particular place, you can highlight the bar line and then GO TO THE PROPERTIES (alt + enter) then check system break.

If you want to see how your music will look, click on the print preview (the sheet of paper with a magnifying glass ).

This will show you where the system has put the breaks. This will depend on the settings you have for the printer etc.
