Note color does not affect beams or slurs

When changing the color of a notehead (note properties, visibility, item color) it does not affect the color of the attached slurs or beams (though ties are affected).  It ends up looking strange to have colored notes with black beams and slurs.  Is there any way to change the color of slurs and beams along with the noteheads without changing the staff default color?  (I am using colored notes as cue notes in a section as an alternative to "hacking" through grace notes...which don't have timing values to line up with other notes in a multi-part score.)  Thanks in advance for your insights...

No.

Layering can be used to make the cued sections a different color. Post a short section of what you are working on and I'll return an example.

Hi Rick.  Many thanks for your prompt reply and willingness to help with my situation.  I have color 7 set to a light grey to try to make the beams and slurs not look so out of place.  My grand hope would have been to use grace notes, but having the notes have no value makes it difficult as they all clump together and don't line up with their regular counterparts on other staves.  I simply want to show the notes for the musicians to follow along...but know that they don't need to play.  In this particular instance, clarity of intent what I am going for (not wanting to put in the additional complexities required for significant workarounds).  It may be that as my example stands is simply good enough.  Thanks again!  Here is a clip:

The attachment covers about everything except leger lines. If you have any need for them, post another example.

Pardon my ignorance...but WTH?

How do I do all this? I have made all my notes white to layer the text with a countermelody for a flute player who needs lyrics to follow (sigh) but the ties still show as black.

I don't understand all the code stuff..

Ties are the color of the notehead that creates the tie.
A notehead can have a color assigned to it.

If a notehead does not have a color assigned to it, it is the color of the note/chord/restchord that creates it.
A note/chord/restchord can have a color assigned to it.

If a note/chord/restchord does not have a color assigned to it, it is the color of the staff on which it resides.
A staff can have a color assigned to it.

If a staff does not have a color assigned to it, it is one of:
  • Printer Default
  • Active Staff
  • Inactive Staff
depending on where it is viewed.

Assigning "Default" to a color is the same as not assigning a color.
In NWC, "Color" and "Highlight" generally mean the same thing.
Noteheads do not have a visibility property.
To make a notehead appear invisible, a 'Blank Space Notehead' can be used.
The 'Blank Space Notehead' has no affect on ties and augmentation dots.
