Ornaments

Hallo All,

In a score, made with Noteworthy I saw ornaments, e.g. "tr." and it was performed by midi indeed.
When I tried to make them, however, it did not work.
What did I do wrong?
Who can tell me?
Thanks in advance!

Sincerely,

Mazzltov.

Most likely, the staff with the 'tr' was actually two staves: the one you saw probably was muted, so it didn't play. There should be another staff which was hidden, and had the actual notes needed to play the trill. (Access hidden staves in the File menu, page setup I think; I'm not looking at the program right now.)

<File><Page Setup> is correct. You can also access it by clicking on the icon that looks like an open book on the button bar. In the dialogue box that comes up, click on the "Contents" tab and then check any empty check boxes. (Often there will be a group of staves labeled "hidden," so you may only have to check one box.)

Hidden staves are a standard NWC workaround that allows users to substitute text symbols for performance directions that have not yet been implemented in the program, but still get the score to sound correct.
