Keyboard mapping

Hello all,
While I am very new to this forum, I have been using Noteworthy Composer V 1.55a for many years.  My usage has principally been transcribing hand written pieces into easily readable sheet music.  I do this by using my computer keyboard, though tedious it is effective and serves me well.  To make a long story short I downloaded the latest demo version the other day and tried to use it.  In this demo version the number keys at the top of the keyboard do not seem to function as advertised.  Meaning, the #1 key should be a whole note, the #2 a half note, #3 a quarter and so on.  The keys do not work.  I can click on them using the mouse but that takes extra time and is not acceptable.  Has anyone run into this problem and does registration correct it?  I am hesitant to spend $50 to register something that I may not be able to use.

Thank you for your time and patience,
Pete.

Welcome to the forum, long time user.
I do not have this problem in the registered version (2.1)
You might try your number keys in something like Notepad. If they don't work there, they won't work in NWC.
If a reboot doesn't solve the problem, I'd start looking for keyboard loggers and other forms of malware.

If this does not work for you in the evaluation, then you would very likely experience the same issue in the full version. If the note length tools show as available, and work when you click on them, then you should also be able to control them using the 1 through 6 keys, as well as the + and - keys, on the keyboard. If you are not able to do this, then something on your system must be interfering.

Also, please note that licensed, registered users of version 1.* can upgrade to NWC 2 for much less than the price that you quote. See our home page for details.

Hello,
Rick G. - Thank you for your response.  I got back to this a couple days later and it worked just fine after the system had been rebooted.  Sorry, I failed to check an obvious remedy for a windows based problem.

Mr. Admin. - Thank you also for your response.  While I have been using Noteworthy since the mid 1990's I have migrated computers and homes, multiple times in the intervening years and have no idea what my authorization code is nor where it may be.  I will attempt the upgrade & see if it will let me.

Again, many thanks to all,
Pete.
