Copyright symbol

How do you enter a copyright symbol (you know, that "c" in a circle) in the song info? When song info comes up, there is a copyright symbol already sitting there - but if I delete it and then want to put one in, how do I do it?

Select all information to the right of the "copyright" symbol and delete only that part of the copyright information. That will leave only the copyright word with symbol. Then add the copyright dates and copyright holders to the line.

There might be a copyright symbol in the character maps if you want to check.

With every version of Windows I've seen, from 3.0 to Windows 95, to WIndows NT 4.0, is a useful little utility in the Accessories group/folder called "Character Map". If you start it, and select the font you are working with, it will show all the characters in the font. You can then select the particular character(s) you want by double clicking. They will move into a little selection box, which you can then copy to the clipboard, and paste into the document you are working with. It also tells you the keyboard code and a blown up picture of the current character the mouse is over. In the case of the copyright symbol, most Windows fonts put the © at 169. You should be able to also hold down the Alt key, and, using the numeric keyboard, type 0169 to get the same result. It's still easier never to delete it, but if you do, there is hope. -Ron

The paste function for clipboard information cannot be accessed from the Song Author Info window.

The best solution in my opinion is deleting only the information to the right of the symbol leaving the copyright (symbol) standing alone and adding information to it.

By the way, the paste function is available in ALL edit boxes of NWC, including title, author, copyright, lyrics, text expression, etc. Simply press Ctrl+V when the focus is in any edit window, and the clipboard contents will be pasted, provided that the contents is text. This will work in most other programs too, unless they are very mis-behaved (ie. do not follow standard conventions).

Here is the full list of clipboard functions that work in edit boxes: Ctrl+X is cut, Ctrl+C is copy, and Ctrl+V is paste. All work in NWC edit boxes of the dialogs.

I hope this helps.

I've been typing in the words copyright at the end of my poetry.  It finally dawned on me to go to the internet and just type in the words copyright symbol.  It led me to this page.  Thanks to all of you for this great information.
