Midi Imports

Does anyone else have probs importing classical midi files? Like if I import a Beethoven midi file like the second movement of the 'Pathetic' sonata, through NoteWorthy Player it imports perfectly. BUT! If I import the exact same file through NoteWorthy Composer, it doesn't import very well, no matter what I try to do, in the lines of Automatic beaming, smallest rest, smallest note, Tempo changes etc... I've tried every combination possible. but it just doesn't import it like NoteWorthy player. Can anyone help me???

What sort of problems do you encounter ?

There are some limitations in the NWComposer import feature, because it must interpret the MIDI file as a score. Some of the limitations can be worked around in various ways explained in this forum or in "User Tips & Tricks" part. Some other require enhancements of the product and we all hope to have them in a future release!

Hmm.. well! When I try to import a Chopin Nocturne, they have to be played quite espressively so they can contain very complex tempo markings, which NWC doesn't seem to import very well, because they come out, all out of beat & unpedaled, even though pedal markings are in the score. And if I try to import a piece, which contains rapid ascending or decending semi-quavers, they seem to sometimes import, as semiquaver - dotted quaver - semiquaver. Instead of semiquaver - semiquaver - semiquaver. And thats just a few of them. Then sometime's when I import a piece, the notation is all out of whack. Where say a crochet should be it imports as 2 tied quavers. Yet if I import any of these files through NoteWorthy player, I have no trouble at all. I'm quite impressed how it does import classical midi files, so I wonder how it does it so well, yet it's counterpart NWC, is so hopeless! Could you possibly tell me how NoteWorthy player imports midi files, probaly be the solution to all my troubles!!! Thanx man! (=

I was about to post the same exact question today! Since it's been almost 90 days since your last posting I would assume that there is no answer/solution available. But I agree with you that if the Player can do it, why not the composer. This is really very frustrating.

NWC can always import a performance as well, if not better, than the player. You might need to play with the import wizard options a bit, but in the end, it should not be a problem to achieve a better result when working with NWC (due to its higher degree of flexibility).
