I've been here as a member for about 4 months...

...But, it's still hard to make new topic.

I used to study HTML(Hypertext Markup Language) and have personal homepage (at the age of 14).
There are tags in HTML, 'b(bold)', 'i(italic)', 'u(underline)', etc.
Also there are some tags in this forum, but a little bit different...

I don't know how to use them.

Can you teach me how to use special languages here?

1. Inserting url in images.
2. Quoting without reference.
3. What I don't know I must know.(And so on.)

I'm sorry for askin' these questions, but I really wanna know. Please teach me.

Try checking out this chart of codes, found in the help system (just click on the Help Tab - found in between Home and Search above).

You can also use the tool bars to do some of the things you are interested in.

And here's what my posting looked like in the text box.  Maybe that will help.

Hope this helps.

See: SMF Bulletin Board Code

I would advise some caution with images.

Urls change over time. It is difficult to make sense of a post that refers to images that no longer display because of broken links.

If you buy (or have bought) NWC2, you can upgrade your membership. This will allow you to attach files and small images. In general, this works much better as the urls are more stable and the pages are delivered faster.

Try to keep the images small. What looks clear to you may look very confusing to someone with a smaller screen who has to "cursor around" to see it all. I know seems barbaric but, some members are still on dial-up modems and pay for access by the minute. They do not appreciate 500KB, 1024x768 screen shots. I try to keep images under 700 pixels wide, reduce the color depth, and compress them (as png's) as much as possible. Most of my attached images are smaller than 10KB.

I searched 'HELP' before, but I didn't find them. Thank you both John and Rick.
