Another request for help with sound problems I'm afraid.

I've just installed noteworthy 2 & can't get sound to play. SW Synth volume is turned up, but midi files won't play in WMPlayer. They will play however in quicktime??
My realtek soundcard shows the midi playback device as microsoft GS wavetable SW synth, but when I try to enable it in NWC it gives an error messge that it failed to open properly. Microsoft midi synth is available in NWC, but not as an option iwith the sound card

HELP!!

The error you get is probably because you are trying top open the device at the same time as the MIDI Mapper, which would fail if they are the same device.

Sound issues are almost always volume related. See the topic just under yours for details: Windows Vista will not play sound
