Re: WAV to MIDI conversion Reply #1 – 1998-06-30 04:00 am This has already been discussed (use Search in nwc site) such as in https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=376 ; this is heavy mathematics stuff you know and often your own ear can do better. But requires some time !hope this helps!? Dominique Quote Selected

Re: WAV to MIDI conversion Reply #3 – 1998-06-30 04:00 am A rough and ready approach is to use Spectrogram by R.S.Horne - a freeware program available for download through most shareware servers.Make sure you get the latest version which allows the spectrum display to be plotted on a log scale. It doesn't do the conversion but you can read off the frequencies in the sample. It helps if you have a chart or spreadsheet of the frequencies of notes on the tempered scale. If you use a spreadsheet you can change the base frequency if the sample is off pitch.Useful for determining the harmonic content of shot chords but it is clouded by harmonics and overtones.Transcribe be ear first then fill the gaps using Spectrogram. Re: WAV to MIDI conversion Reply #4 – 1999-10-27 04:00 am Have a look Digital Ear. They have a free demo on their WEB site. I think http://digitalear.iwarp.com/This program is BY FAR better than autoscore or sound2midiIf I remember well the full version costs about $65Cheers,--James Quote Selected
Re: WAV to MIDI conversion Reply #5 – 1999-11-14 05:00 am AutoScore, Sound2Midi, and Digital Ear only work with wav files containing one note at a time (monophonic). If your wav files contain more than one note at a time, such as chords (polyphonic), I suggest you give intelliScore a try. You can download a free trial copy at http://www.intelliscore.net Quote Selected
