evaluating - questions and comments 1998-06-25 04:00 am Just began evaluating shareware. Printout is outstanding!! using HP 672C. However, when I added several staves of music to my song, the printout went berserk, size-wise. Threw the last bars onto a second page, changed font size. I have no idea what I did to make that happen. Ideas? Also, this piece started out as score with one vocal line plus piano. But when I added the second line of vocal score, it appears to be joined to the first set of three staves, and likewise the second line of the "piano" part. And the brace has disappeared. Is it necessary to re-invent the wheel every time one adds another line of each part?I read a review that talked about Noteworthy being an "intuitive" program, and tend to agree. Comments? Re: evaluating - questions and comments Reply #1 – 1998-06-25 04:00 am It is very difficult to ascertain what you are doing wrong without actually looking at the file. Something to note, however: you only add staves to the extent that you have individual parts to be played. The actual grouping of the staves into systems that fit onto the printed page is done by NWC. See the samples for a good indication of how to do this. You can also send your file to support, where we can look at it and indicate where the problem is taking place. Quote Selected
Re: evaluating - questions and comments Reply #2 – 1998-06-26 04:00 am Moreover, you have to know that when you add a staff, it is always placed at the bottom. (let's go to the wish list to ask to add it under the current :-)If it is not there that you want it, simply go to Staff/Move (Alt-s, v) and move it where you want to (on Upper piano part I guess).Good evaluation, and do not hesitate to ask for files if you want more examples (those that NWC gives are enough though, including models)Dominique Quote Selected
Re: evaluating - questions and comments Reply #3 – 1998-06-26 04:00 am Thanks for the replies. I cut and pasted the passages I had entered wrongly, so that everything displayed out to the right. Printout then worked beautifully, as did the cut and paste. Score printed very well. The ease of beaming notes is worth the price of the license. I will send in the order form today! Really appreciate the programming skills that have obviously gone into this program!!!Another quick beginner's question. My score, which is a pretty simple piece, 16 bars, four bars to a system. The last system does not justify the margins like the other systems. That's a disappointment. Any solutions? Quote Selected
