Sounding notes on entering

I'm new to this forum and to NWC 2 (met both today since midnight, and it's only 2AM), but not to NWC 1, which I bought in 2003 after using the unregistered version for a while. 1.75a has served me well for the past three years, so I thought I'd have a look at the beta - and it looks great! Slurs, for instance, look heaps better now than they did before.

One thing I can't find though, either by searching the docs or by searching this forum. How do you turn off the sounding of notes as you enter them? It's a good feature, but I'd like to be able to turn it on and off at will. Is there an option buried somewhere?

There's only one other point that threw me. I can no longer "Save As" MIDI - have to export. My fingers are used to "alt-f, s, alt-f, a" to save both the NWC and the MID - maybe I've gotten into bad habits. :)

NWC 2 seems to be a pretty good improvement on version 1, which is itself a highly useful program. They're happily running in parallel, no conflicts.

Hi, Chris -

Tools, Options, MIDI tab

Then uncheck the box that says "Play notes on entry."

Hope that helps.
