Creating a chord composed of regular notes and grace notes

I'm typing a hymn.  It has chords composed of both regular notes and grace notes. First I tried to form a chord the usual way by using the grace note attribute.  NWC2 wouldn't do it.  Then I try to use layering to form the cord.  The two notes were not aligned.  When I added extra note spacing on the grace note, the regular note on the other staff moved also.

How do you form chords with both regular notes and grace notes using NWC2?

You don't. Grace notes and regular notes will not align vertically will any consistency. This is why grace notes make poor "cue" notes.  Best workaround I know of is to use regular notes, make the noteheads blank and put smaller noteheads in as text.  The beams are still too fat, but it is close. Sometimes, it helps to make the stems shorter.
