double note durations

I have a midi file (the super mario brothers theme) that is filled with sixteenth and thirty-second notes. What I'm trying to do is turn the piece into cuttime/alla breve (2/2) and double each of the note durations so it's easier to read.
Can any of you programmers make a user tool to double all the note durations at once (sixteenth note to eighth note, quarter note to half note, dotted-eighth note to dotted- quarter note, etc.)? This would be very helpful as I have tons of fast-paced midi files with sixteenth notes all over the place. If you can, thanks.

no, the only way to do it would be to do it manually to each note

If you select the entire staff and press the "+" key all the notes and rests will double in value.  The "-" key will half the values.  Then change the time signature and audit bar lines if need be.

It was a nice revelation for me, quite a short while ago, when I learned this usage of the + and - keys.
I have used workarounds (no way I would do this one note at a time!) but this is waaaay easier.
