midi patch/program/timbre changes 2005-04-03 12:00 pm Using a laptop running windows 95, noteworthy of course, into a mark of the unicorn parallel to midi adapter(motu) out to a roland u-220 rack mount synthesizer. the sound is great, but am having trouble with midi comands. when i set the midi instrument to a patch number(numeric based 1) noteworthy sends the correct patch information, but the instrument listed in the patch changes. for instance, i am trying to use a patch number with a flute, when played the unit goes to the correct patch, but the patch changes instruments. how can i set the correct patch in noteworthy, without sending an instrument change(timbre). or is this a synthesizer issue? Re: midi patch/program/timbre changes Reply #1 – 2005-04-05 04:56 am I have observed something similar to this once.To insure you get what you want....For all MIDI Patch Instructions, always select the box for "Send Bank Select"with the values -> MSB: 0, LSB: 0 Quote Selected
Re: midi patch/program/timbre changes Reply #2 – 2005-04-05 11:25 am thanks, i will try that next. i found under the many menus of the roland unit that i could disable patch change comands. this seems to have worked, and i am able to set the instruments to what i want, and then write them to memory on the roland unit. quite time consuming but it gets it done.
