quicker grace notes 2005-03-18 04:50 am Is there any way to alter the speed of the grace note. No matter what type of note u make a grace it plays the same mostly. So I was wondering if there is any way of having them play quicker(without having to write something in a hidden staff). Quote Selected
Re: quicker grace notes Reply #1 – 2005-03-18 12:36 pm The short answer is "NO". Grace notes always played as (IIRC) 16th notes, and always steal time from the following non-grace note. The only answer (currently) is to use a hidden staff.I suggest you add your request to the wish list, as you're not the first person to have problems with this.Robin Quote Selected
Re: quicker grace notes Reply #2 – 2005-03-18 01:16 pm No, grace notes in NWC are always played as thirty-second notes. Quote Selected
Re: quicker grace notes Reply #3 – 2005-03-18 05:43 pm It's not the best solution, but... Try using one staff with visible notes that don't play (muted), and another with playing notes that are invisible (hidden). The playing notes can be constructed using ordinary (non-grace) notes. Quote Selected
Re: quicker grace notes Reply #4 – 2005-03-19 05:25 am I'll say it again. I really appreciate the strength of this simple, inexpensive little program in that there is a "workaround" for most challenges.Would that they weren't necessary, but given the simplicity of learning the program, its cost and the general ease of use, I love it. Re: quicker grace notes Reply #5 – 2005-03-19 07:29 pm In my own case, it's more than just a workaround... when I first obtained NWC (v 1.55) I used it to "edit" choral music so that my sheet would show what I was capable of singing, never mind what the composer intended. It's the same concept, eh? Except in professional music, if a choir member hits a note in the correct chord, at the correct time, that's good! Quote Selected
