Select patch bank

The feature 'Insert patch bank' also provides for Bank Select  with a tick box for 'select patch bank', and refers to controller and 32.  What does this do please and how should  I use it?

Apols.  Message should have started with 'The feature Insert Instrument Patch' ..... etc

instrument number = Program Change
variation number = Bank Select

1. Program Change. This can be any number from 0-127.
2. Bank MSB, or Controller 0 (often abbreviated CC00). Any number from 0-127.
3. Bank LSB, or Controller 32 (often abbreviated CC32). Any number from 0-127.

EXAMPLE: If you wish to select the instrument (Old Upright) which has variation number 8, instrument 4, you would choose the following:

Program Change or Patch Name: Honky Tonk (value is 3 since we use 0-127)
Controller Value 0: 8 (MSB value)
Controller Value 32: 0 (LSB value is generally always 0)

Some GM devices don't recognize the LSB (CC32) value.
All GS devices recognize the LSB (CC32) value.
