Bug report? Display upon switching between songfiles 2004-12-24 09:56 pm I had two song files open, each with many staffs - too many for the screen. In switching between the files, it seems that I'm always returning to a display of the top few staffs and have to scroll down to get to where I want to be working.I think this is a bug that could be improved upon. Re: Bug report? Display upon switching between songfiles Reply #2 – 2004-12-26 06:36 am Hi Eric,I used Alt-W, 1 (or 2 when going the other way). If I do Alt-W and then mouseclick the selection, the problem doesn't seem to occur (although I didn't test it exhaustively).Song1 has 22 staffs, Song2 is 32 staffs. I tried Ctrl-F6 just now, and the display moves up about 5 staffs each time. So in Song1, with the bottom staff active, using Ctrl-F6 to go to Song2 and then back moves the active staff off the bottom of the screen, because the display has moved up 5. It takes 4 returns to Song1 to be at the top.I'm running Windows98, the most current preview of NWC2, on a PC clone, 1024x768 screen resolution. Zoom setting in both songs 6 pixels.Merry Christmas, Eric, but, umm, what the heck are you doing working today?David Quote Selected
Re: Bug report? Display upon switching between songfiles Reply #3 – 2004-12-28 12:17 pm I can reproduce this bug on Windows XP Pro, NWC version 2 preview 1g, even when using Ctrl-Tab it's the same. However, I don't have to scroll the score; with scrolling I assume you meant grabbing the right-hand scroll bar and dragging it downwards. It's enough to press one of the arrow keys once, and the selected staff comes into view. Perhaps it has something to do with if the score is zoomed in or not. This I have not tested. Quote Selected
Re: Bug report? Display upon switching between songfiles Reply #4 – 2004-12-28 06:49 pm Hi Pär, welcome to the forum.Thank you for confirming that the behaviour occurs with your setup too. Also thank you for pointing out that a single down arrow tap will move me back to the active staff.Interestingly, what I observe is that if there are other staffs below it, the active staff will now appear as the top staff on the screen. When writing a score with section groupings, I usually work from top to bottom, copying from one staff to another where I can. 3rd trombone might be the 11th or 13th staff out of 17 to 20 staffs for big band, but with a single down arrow, the 3rd trombone line is now at the top of the display. I have to use the up arrow to bring the other trombone parts into view.No big deal for me, since I don't do a lot of switching between files, but since it's an unintended behaviour I thought it should be brought to NWC's attention.
