Re: D.S al Fine , dann Trio Reply #1 – 2004-12-06 01:16 pm Johan,First I will check that I understand the problem. You have a tune which is notated as follows -Introduction / sign / Section B / DS al fine / fine / trio / DC.There seems to be a mistake here. It will play like this -Introduction => Section B => Section B = > Stop. The instruction DS al fine says "go back to the sign then stop when you get to the fine." The trio can never be reached. Is the following what you wanted to achieve (a standard minuet structure)?Introduction => Section B => Section B (repeated) => Trio => Section B => Stop. This can best be notated as follows:Introduction / master repeat open / sign / Section B / fine / master repeat close / trio / DS al fine /.Master repeat open and close are varieties of bar lines - use [insert bar line (decorated)].If I have misunderstood the probem, I hope others can offer alternative advice.HTHStephen Quote Selected

Re: D.S al Fine , dann Trio Reply #4 – 2004-12-06 02:40 pm The D.S. al Fine will direct play back to go back to the Segno, where the piece will play until the Fine. If you do not want it to stop at the Fine, then remove the Fine and change the "D.S. al Fine" to a simpler "D.S." Dal Segno instruction.Example repeats are shown in the repeat*.nwc samples.
