Problems with Chording

I'm evaluating NoteWorth Composer. It looks quite good and I might buy it, but I've run into a couple of things I can't figure out how to do. Can anyone tell me if the following are possible:

1. Chording a rest with a note. One case where this is needed is where a longer note (e.g. a minim), printed with it's stem going down, coincides with a phrase of shorter notes (e.g. quavers) which starts with a quaver rest.

2. Printing a dotted minim followed by a crotchet above two minims, where the dotted minim is chorded with the first of the two lower minims, such that the second of the lower minims is played on the 3rd beat of the bar, and the crotchet is played on the 4th beat. When I try to enter this combination, the crotchet gets played on the 5th beat!

I'm hoping there are solutions to, or at least ways around these problems, as there's no point in buying it unless it can accurately transcribe the music I am trying to enter.

Andrew,
Your query 1 can be accommodated. Enter the quaver rest (and the remaining quavers) first with the 'stem up' option on. Then change the stem up to stem down and chord the minim with the rest. For your second query, this approach doesn't work, so you must split the dotted minim into a minim tied to a crotchet chorded with the second lower minim, stems set accordingly. Then enter your remaining crotchet. Thread 537 - Two Voices on a Staff - examines this problem exhaustively!

Thanks, Peter. I don't know why I didn't find the rest chording myself - it's easy when you know how, isn't it! As for the problem with the dotted minim, I can live with the workaround. Cheers.
