transposing from another clef

Has anyone found an easy way to transpose from clefs? This is my situation---playing for church--trying to tranpose bass cleff (string bass-C instrument?) to treble cleff Bb instrument (bass clarinet). Any tips, hints, help greatly appreciated. Thanks! Beth

This is done in two steps:

1 - Change the key

2 - Change the clef

These are defined in our web site common questions, at:

I have figured out(and it works) that a decent part can be made by playing the bass part like it was a treble part, yet making the treble G(on the bass part) a C on the Bb clarinet. See Example below.
Bass Part>---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------@----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Would be played on the treble instrument as>----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
