Rests Grouped with Notes

Is there a way to write two parts on a single staff, such that a rest can exist underneath or on top of a note? An example would be a quarter note rest grouped with a quarter note. I thought it would have been useful to be able to put a note on the staff and then use Ctrl-Enter to place the rest on top or underneath the note, similar to the way chords are handled in Noteworthy. Cassical Guitar music uses this kind of notation all the time.

You can combnine a note and a rest by first placing the rest, then adding the note. The exact rules for this are outlined in the help file section for the Insert Chord Member command (the rest must be smaller duration than the note(s)). Note that rests are considered to have a stem direction when performing this operation. You can use this to control whether the rest is on top or bottom in the chord.

I hope this helps.
