beethoven concerto

hey, on beethoven's concerto, (the noteworthy composers version,) i noticed there's big letters all over the score, right on the notes. what are those for?

Just guessing, but I think they're supposed to be symbols from the Boxmarks or NWC Extra Ornaments (or similar) font.

These fonts have regular letters replaced with notation symbols (like trills, arpeggios, portatos etc.).

As you seemingly don't have the required font installed, NWC displays the characters in Times New Roman, so the score looks all crazy.

Look in the song's Information details, or a readme or something to see what font it requires - or just install all you can find to make sure all songs you download display correctly right away.

You can find a lot of these musical fonts at the NWC Scriptorium.

Beethoven's Concerto you mentioned may be the one I notated and submitted.
Jussi's answer is quite right.
The big letters must be 'q's.
In Boxmark2 font, q denotes the abbreviation symbol for sixteenth notes.
