Staff properties 2004-07-30 08:50 pm It would be great if the new version could include the capability that when changing staff properties there would be a print preview tab to check the page without having to go out and then in again everytime you make an alteration. I use this facility all the time and it is very frustrating and time consuming when I am trying to alter some music to fit a page.Or maybe add this feature to the page setup option?Kath Quote Selected
Re: Staff properties Reply #1 – 2004-07-30 11:22 pm Print preview already exists (menu:file). What you want is a direct button? Quote Selected
Re: Staff properties Reply #2 – 2004-07-31 08:53 am It already exists in page setup but not in staff properties. It is very tedious to keep altering the staff and then having to go into page setup to see what the alterations have done. Sometimes I'm back and forward like a yoyo trying to make some music fit onto 1 sheet! Quote Selected
Re: Staff properties Reply #3 – 2004-08-02 11:48 am Couldn't agree more Kath! I am often trying to get one instrument's part to just fit a single sheet. It is so annoying when four measures end up on the next page and you have to fiddle back and forth with settings & preview to get it right. Quote Selected
Re: Staff properties Reply #5 – 2004-08-11 05:38 am 'wold also like the feature to customize printouts even more. (ie: space between staves, Measures per staves, staves per pages) Quote Selected
Re: Staff properties Reply #6 – 2004-08-25 09:43 pm Spacing between staves can be got by selecting the stave and setting the verticle size. The lower one spreads the staves out nicely. I have been setting closed score SATB using layers and by by setting the Bass part to a lower boundary of 20 it separates the systems nicely. If 20 is too much and some overflows I reduce it till it fits.I am glad I don't have to worry about the measures per line. I make small changes to the margins. Sometimes a 1/10 of a cm is critical. If the final system length looks a little short reducing the margins a little can give a resonable look. A good featuer of Noteworthy is that we don't have to do everything and its defaults are generally very acceptable. Quote Selected
