PRINTING

When i print music the 1st page prints to about 3/4 of the paper and page 2-3 etc. prints to the bottom of the paper or to the end of the piece. working with the margins doesn't seem to have any effect.

Let me guess...

The first page has your title, composer, and maybe copyright notice. The other pages do not. Thus, the first page has less vertical space available for the music.

If your music uses more than one staff, the reduced space may require NWC to eliminate a large amount of music from the first page. Small changes to the margins may not help, because the margins are much smaller than the space taken each system of music.

If that is the reason, you may find it helpful to make a metafile of the first page, then paste it into MS Word. You can crop away the white space, and move things down.

You can also try a trick: Instead of the actual music title, use a non-breaking space (character 160), and set its font size to some very large number. This may have the effect of creating a large white space above your first system. For the actual title, you would then put it in as text in the music editor, above the first system.

I'm getting the opposite effect-the pages after the first page have a pretty big margin on the bottom. Settings for margins are all default. Making the point size larger or smaller only results in more or less pages.
