non-tonal notes

How to I enter notes that have an "x" instead of an oval on the staff? I know I can then mute the notes to make them not play, but I can't get the notes to appear as "x"'s.

This would be used to notate spoken or percussion rhythms.

You can't (right now).
This is something that many have wished for for a long time, but it has not yet happened.
Please head for the Wish List and wish for it.
The more requests, the greater the chance it'll happen.
