Audio Compositor

Where can I download, purchase, or get a copy of AUDIO COMPOSITOR.  I have soundfont samples that use AUDIO COMPOSITOR.  I can only download an evaluation copy good for only 30 seconds.  If this is not available, what MIDI to WAV rendering Software would be compatible with AUDIO COMPOSITOR?

Thanks for your reply to my message this morning in reference to AUDIO COMPOSITOR. I have the same page as you gave me, however on entering the address I get a message that the Content Is Blocked. Do you know another method of reaching the Software Agent, Owner, or Scott Mitchell who seems to be responsible for the software.
Thanks,
JON

Greetings -

I don't think it's available any more.  I was looking just yesterday to see if there's an update (I'm a registered user and am running version 4.5), but all the web links I found didn't lead anywhere.

Again, as was mentioned, Synthfont can render MIDI to WAV using soundfonts also.  It's also free, a bonus.

I have used Audio Compositor a lot to generate WAV files; it's quick and I've found the results pretty satisfying.  It's sad to see it go.

Hello!

I am registered user of audio compositor and visited the web site once a month for updates.
The site http://audiocompositor.home.att.net/ was the official adress until appr. 2 weeks ago, now it is blocked.
Either Scott Mitchell plans a major upgrade or stopped developing/selling his very good programm I like and use very much.

Sorry that I have no better news!
Michael

Well, I have once (from 1995 - 98) done some voluntary localization contributions for AC (german help file) and since then stayed in frequent contact with Scott Mitchell.

Also I don´t know what´s happening at the moment and why the content of his homepage is blocked -- but from my latest contact with Scott (ok, that´s about 7 month year ago) I know that he doesn´t see much sense in developing Audio Compositor any further (he´s just a "one man band", and his individual "human" ressources surely can´t - on the long run - compete with *companies* who work in the same realm), and of course he has a demanding day time job.

I personally can only hope that nothing *personal* happened to this very fine guy !

I'm also a registered user of AC. I'm also sad that the program is off..
If by chance Scott Michael is reading that, I can only say that: well it may seem that AC can not compete with megabuck sampler soft companies BUT: it is doing something so important that no other big name can do: AC was able to render to disk (up to very high pro standarts) things that can not be played realtime by the computer.. so we were free to use any size of file we wanted..
I was just dreaming about a vst-asio support and Gig import for the next big update.. sorry!

I was looking for updates on Audio Compositor, too. :( I'm a registered user, also. What was the latest version so I know that I'm not searching in vain.

What are some other good ones that render to disk?

Thanks,
beanslayer

Audio Compositor 4.5 updated on 18th May 2003 was the latest publicly available version. Maybe AC is going commercial?

Me too, I'm a registered owner of AC (since October 2000), and had a lot of e-mail exchange with Scott concerning minor bugs in the program. I have tried, in vain, to contact Scott in order to know how he's doing, and if Günter Schenk or somebody else has his actual e-mail address I would appreciate to hear from you.

Best regards
