Sustain Pedal has no effect on playback 1998-03-13 05:00 am The Insert | Sustain Pedal looks nice on the output, but asfar as I can hear, it has no effect on the playback. Am Iright, and (if so) will it get fixed. Why does it have no Preserve Width and Hide when Printingoptions? Every insertable marking should have the same options.Dynamic Variance also does not have Hide when Printing. Quote Selected
Re: Sustain Pedal has no effect on playback Reply #1 – 1998-03-18 05:00 am Pedal works just fine on all my midi cards/boxes.What is your midi device? I agree, Preserve Width and Hide When Printing should be on it, at least for consistency's sake. Don't forget Staff Position.Andrew Quote Selected
Re: Sustain Pedal has no effect on playback Reply #2 – 1998-03-18 05:00 am I have a notebook computer with a built in sound card. I would guess it is Sound Blaster compatible, but I don't know. Maybe there is a problem with the midi driver. Quote Selected
Re: Sustain Pedal has no effect on playback Reply #3 – 1998-03-18 05:00 am It may be that that particular card doesn't do sustain pedals!? Some of the cheaper cards are pretty trashy.A Quote Selected
Re: Sustain Pedal has no effect on playback Reply #4 – 1998-06-24 04:00 am I used a bunch of stuff to record MIDI (I haven't tried NOTEWORTHY yet)I have the same problem. I put a few files on a homepage(http://www.infonet.st-johns.nf.ca/providers/green/songs.html)but they sound terrible with my PINE (I had two, ISA and PCI) sound cards, but much better (with pedal)through an externalMIDI device (Roland CM-300). What we need is a workaround - a program to pre-process the pedal signals, replacing them with delayed note off signals. Does anyone know of any program that already does this? It seems that a little utility in QBASIC would suffice (an educational project for a student?) Quote Selected
