Trumpet/Trombone sounds

What I want to know is how do I make this  (http://www.freewebs.com/kanohinuva/nwc-imported.mid) into this (http://www.freewebs.com/kanohinuva/original.mid)  via notation. When I learn how, I want to make this song (http://www.freewebs.com/kanohinuva/mysong.mid) sound just like the 2nd song. You know the difference between the first two, and the 2nd one sounds better. I want my song to sound like that. Does anyone know how? If you don't understand I can explain a bit more.

Your original and imported midi file sound the same to me. Your mysong includes percussion, so it sounds different. Do you just want to add percussion?

The difference is caused by NWC stripping out the controllers in the original MIDI when it was imported.

Trumpet Staff:
Add the following at the head of the staff.
Using - Insert / Multi Point Controller with Style set as Absolute.
Controller - Volume - Initial Value 127
Controller - Expression - Initial Value 127
Controller - Pan - Initial Value 55
Controller - Effects (Reverb) - Initial Value 20
Controller - Chorus - Initial Value 20

Trombone Staff:
Add the following at the head of the staff.
Using - Insert / Multi Point Controller with Style set as Absolute
Controller - Volume - Initial Value 127
Controller - Expression - Initial Value 110
Controller - Pan - Initial Value 75
Controller - Effects (Reverb) - Initial Value 20
Controller - Chorus - Initial Value 20

The values are not quite the same for each instrument.

Check it out and adjust if necessary.

Staff Volume and Pan could also be added through Staff/Staff Properties/MIDI menu item as an alternative to using MPCs for Volume and Pan.

You will need to something similar to mysong.nwc to make it sound like the original.mid.
Do you understand what MIDI controllers are and what they do?

I also notice that the trombone is lagging behind the trumpet by just a teencey bit (which Barry's MPCs might take care of) and that the trombone is is a bit flat compared to the trumpet.
Kinda like two guys I play with...

Anita is quite right about the lag.

The trombone is about 12 ticks at 96 ticks per quarter note behind the trumpet. (About 1/32 note behind).
You could add a 1/32 rest at the head of the trombone track then rebar the staff (audit bar lines).

As for the tuning - the trombone is actually sharp.
Set at +560 on the pitch wheel. (About 13 cents up).
Try inserting a Pitch Wheel controller at the start of the trombone staff with an absolute value of 560.
