Can't burn onto CDs 2004-02-23 03:47 pm Why is it not possible to burn NWC files onto CDs? You can turn them into MIDI files but Nero is unable to read them. Any suggestions or people who are having the same problem? Quote Selected
Re: Can't burn onto CDs Reply #1 – 2004-02-23 04:22 pm NWC files are data files. You can burn them to a data CD just like any other data file.If you are referring to an audio CD, you must first capture the audio produced by an NWC file when it is played. Depending on your CD burning software, you usually can capture the audio as WAV for editing, or straight to MP3. There are many software tools that enable you to capture audio either to MP3 or WAV. Re: Can't burn onto CDs Reply #3 – 2004-02-23 09:56 pm My Nero will burn NWC files to a cd, if the cd is formated by CDIn as a big floppy disk. Quote Selected
Re: Can't burn onto CDs Reply #4 – 2004-02-24 12:01 am If you use Nero 5 or later you have the Nero Wave Editor. You can record your MIDI file with the wave editor by playing back the file through NWC while recording with the wave editor and save it in any audio format you like. Quote Selected
Re: Can't burn onto CDs Reply #5 – 2004-02-24 02:48 am To put that another way: A NWC file, or a MIDI file, is NOT an audio file. It is a set of instructions for creating an audio file. You can put a NWC or MIDI file on a "data" CD-ROM that can be read by computer only, because you can put any kind of file there. But if you want an audio CD to be played on your Sony Discman, you gotta first make an audio file (WAV, etc.). Quote Selected
Re: Can't burn onto CDs Reply #6 – 2004-03-01 01:45 am I can't even record even though I have a VERIO XP computer. I did go to Timidity and now I do have them in my WAV files in Wordperfect even though stupid noteworthy says it can't put them there.Even Windows Media Player won't make the CD of my own composer files. It does play them, but sends me an error message that says it can't play them. And I did make a NEW PLAYLIST where I save my music I compose.I went to microsoft and loved for the wavetable, but, I already have it on Noteworthy because that's what Noteworthy is I learned. So, what now? Record always sends a stupid message that it can't record in Noteworthy. Quote Selected
Re: Can't burn onto CDs Reply #7 – 2004-03-01 02:05 am Read through https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=3468 step by step. Is that what you are doing? More likely than not, it seems that you are missing a step, somewhere.Trust me, it is possible to burn CD audio from your NWC composition, by saving MIDI, recording the MIDI to WAV, then burning the WAV. If your CD burner insists that the input be MP3 instead of WAV, it is easy enough to go from WAV to MP3 with software discussed in the user tip.My computer came with two CD burners built-in: The one provided by Microsoft in Windows XP Media Player 9, and another product provided by the computer manufacturer. Both products work. But the way they are used is very different, and it is possible to mis-understand what to do.Remember that an audio file (not MIDI) can be recorded to an audio CD, or it can be recorded to a data CD like any other file type. Maybe you have told your CD burner to create a data (computer) CD, and it won't create playlists for that type? Quote Selected
Re: Can't burn onto CDs Reply #8 – 2004-03-01 11:59 am Personally, I found that it was quite easy to use a program called Ripvinyl to turn the music, being played by Noteworthy in the ordinary way, into a wav file, which can be copied and played on ordinary CD players. The program can be found by searching on the internet ( try Google ) and if I remember rightly, you can have a trial run, but to register there is a modest fee. Timidity I found bit frightening, - for me and not te program, despite its nameTony Quote Selected
