Increase note spacing in combination with a rest

When you don't want to increase the note spacing for larger durations and a bar-line starts with a rest, you have a problem. The time-signature (at the beginning of a song) will be placed on the same place as the rest. That means that the time-signature and the rest are both very difficult to read because of the fact the are on the same place. Does some-one has the solution? If you don't know what I mean, send me an e-mail and will send you a song with the problem.

I think that your problem is solved with the last version of NWC.
However I think you could solve it by inserting a teXt item (preserving width) containing a space. Though this solution doesn't work any more (but you don't need it either).
