I don't know about templates, but look at the Scriptorium:

http://nwc-scriptorium.org/
Welcome to the NWC Scriptorium

This is an all volunteer effort (no support nor interference from NoteWorthy Software -- they are really good guys, and would never interfere, at least that is my impression) where anyone can have NWC files posted, as long as there is no copyright problems.  You will find lots of pre-1923 music, original compositions, folk tunes, etc.  Anyone can download from the site and you find examples of almost any type of music.  There are also link pages with for useful files (such as fonts), help pages, user hints, etc.

Try it, you'll like it.

If you want to make a standard NWC file as a template, simply copy/move it to the templates directory :)
And there are many of them at the Scripto.
I remember posting a user tip on adding sub-directories: https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=2362. You can create as many categories(=directories) as you want, but do not create sub-directories in the sub-directories.
HTH!

On the Scriptorium, look for the Helpful File "rhythms.zip."
