Swiss Style Drumming staffs & Scottish Drumming Music

Hello:

I moderate a list that discusses various aspects of Scottish Style drumming and two or three times a year the question comes up "Is there/ What is the best music notation software for scores for Scottish style drumming?"

Several of the more expensive software products are always mentioned, but here's the catch; We write for a monitonic instrument, the "side"(snare) drum using Swiss notation format; specifically ONE LINE staffs. Notes on top of the line are played with the right hand, notes under the line with the left.

So question #1 Can this be done with NoetWorthy?

The second item is that our music is FULL of embellishments. For example three to six notes preceeding the primary note. DWould NoteWorthy allow such overloading a beat much less a measure?

Side drummers all around the world are wondering.

Please reply to my email address

Thanks

JJH

I do not know whther NWC dan do what you are asking. The percussion clef and percussion noteheads are not currently supported, so this may answer your question.

I hope this helps.

I'm looking for the partiture of Drummer's Salute by D.G. McCroskie. Who knows where I can find it on the net?

I´m a drummer from Argentina and I would like to find somewhere scores of scottish drumming, so if you can help me somehow I´ll be thankful. Our band is growing up but we have already a nice level of score reading. What we need is mostly hornpipes tunes and 4/4 marching tunes. thank´s again

yours sincerely
Marcos

yeah, we all need drums!
drum notation has been a wish for ages.
I am sure that noteworthy has looked at this as they already have a great program. is adding drums on the horizon for noteworthy?

i Have many friends who would buy noteworthy with drum features even though they have more expensive notation programs.
I love noteworthy for what it does for me already.
thank you and best wishes.

Just get Finale 2001 by Coda Music. You can configure it easily to write single staff with any kind of notation. It's really not that hard to setup and the music is as professional looking as it gets.
