Re: recorded notes never change Reply #1 – 2003-12-01 12:25 pm If you're recording in step time (which is what I always do, being a lousy pianist), the note duration is fixed unless you change it. I find the easiest way to do this is using the numeric keys -1 for whole note,2 for half note, etc.,up to 6.RObin Quote Selected
Re: recorded notes never change Reply #2 – 2003-12-01 01:48 pm how does one get from step time to duration time? orrrrr....maybe a better question would be...what's the easiest way to build a rhythm template? or is that a really dumb question?thanks once againmike Quote Selected
Re: recorded notes never change Reply #3 – 2003-12-01 03:58 pm No it's not dumb.To record in real time (assuming your pianistic skills are up to it) you need a rhythm or click track of the right duration (or longer), preferably with a lead-in so you know when to start.Add another staff to your score and set it to MIDI channel 10 (percussion). Enter the required rhythm in first bar (measure). Count up the number of bars you want with this rhythm and change the ending bar line to Local Repeat Close with the desired repeat count. Change the opening bar line to Local Repeat Open. If the rhythm changes part way through just duplicate the LRO Pattern LRC combination with the new pattern. Now record your track and cut and paste it into the appropriate staff in your piece. You'll probably have to audit accidentals, and you can even quantize the sample by passing it through a MIDI import first. Quote Selected
