Hairpins etc. 1998-02-20 05:00 am I've found a useful way to get hairpins, extra slurs, and other graphical notations onto a score is to draw them'off line' (I use Top Draw) and save them in a clip artdirectory as Windows Metafiles. Cut and Paste the scorepage into a suitable package then import and position thesymbols as required. Page Plus for example can stretch, flip and rotate graphics, so almost any requirement can bemet. I WISH ... for dynamic hairpins and repositioning ofslurs - they often obscure lyrics. Quote Selected
Re: Hairpins etc. Reply #1 – 1998-02-22 05:00 am Peter - have you had any joy in importing a metafile or screen save from NWC into TopDraw.I cant do it successfully - I guess the TD metafile format is a bit strange - I have a similar problem with Coreldraw imports. Quote Selected
Re: Hairpins etc. Reply #2 – 1998-02-23 05:00 am I have heard that good old Microsoft Word works well enough when you paste a clipboard-copy of a NoteWorthy Composer page. Quote Selected
Re: Hairpins etc. Reply #3 – 1998-02-23 05:00 am Barry - In answer to your query re importing to Top Draw, Althoughthe import is at first sight successful, I've found that invariablythe note 'dots' are incorrectly aligned almost half their widthbelow the correct position. The width to height proportions of thescore are sometimes distorted, although this can be corrected bydragging. Corel Draw! (version 4) takes a year and a day to convert the file, and then doesn't always position all the symbols correctly althoughthe notes are OK. Serif Draw Plus 2 misses out the slurs and thinsthe text fonts. So it's back to good old Serif Page Plus (version 3)(I haven't got Word, Eric, so can't comment on that). As a further refinement to the Page Plus solution, I've set up a blankpage with my extra symbols pre-loaded outside the printable area.Once the music score has been pasted, it's then very easy repeatedlyto copy and paste extra symbols as required. So far I've set up ahairpin, slur, ripple (for arpeggios etc.) and 'plet' (for quadruplets, sextuplets etc.) You can at the same time of course add fancy titlingand extra text if required.I'd be happy to post a copy of the blank Page Plus page to the forum ifI knew how! As a beginner on the 'Net I'm not up to that yet - any tips?? Quote Selected
