Transposing...sort of 2003-11-20 04:52 pm Many midis I import use accidentals...usually sharps...in the music, and no key signature. If the tune is in a sharp key I can add a signature and audit accidentals to fix this. If a flat key, I can't figure out what to do. I just imported a piece in Bb, for instance, but Noteworthy transciibed the tune in sharps... I tried transposing up to c major...but as I had guessed, Noteworthy considered the c's for example, to be B#s. Any suggestions? Thanks Quote Selected
Re: Transposing...sort of Reply #1 – 2003-11-20 06:28 pm If you're using the newest version of NWC, there's an option in the transpose tool to "minimise accidentals", "favour sharps", or "favour flats". You can transpose zero semitones to clean up an existing score. Quote Selected

Re: Transposing...sort of Reply #3 – 2003-11-20 08:04 pm When a MIDI file did not specify the key signature, you can add it after the fact by doing the following:First, make all notes show accidental using Tools, Force AccidentalsNow, add or change the key signature as neededLast, force the notes to be re-spelled in the new key using Tools, Audit Enharmonic Spelling Quote Selected
