If you can live with circled numbers form 0 to 10, use the "Wingdings" font that is already in your system.

If your music does not actually have lyrics (words), you can specify Wngdings as the lyrics font and use the lyrics editor. To avoid placing a symbol at every note, you can either use the underscore in lyrics, or you can highlight notes in the music editor, and change their properties to lyrics-never.

If the circled numbers only appear occasionally, or if you do have real lyrics, or if the circled numbers must be placed in random locations, it is better to use the text editor feature of NWC. Specify Wingdings as a user font. Then, place text with the user font.

Either way, when you use the lyrics or text editor window, you will see ordinary letters, not symbols. But the symbols will appear on the music.

In NWC 1.75, lyrics and text are placed with respect to the music. So, experiment with the various choices for visual alignment.
